Dr. Desamour gave an update on the Cultural Awareness Committee. Dr. Bragg talked about fundraising ideas for the SCMS Foundation. Dr. Reddy encouraged members to join an SCMS committee during his Membership Committee update. Dr. Kelley gave an update on the Volunteer Physicians Committee. Dr. Kapil spoke on ideas the Program Committee has for 2009. Dr. Davis noted the SCMS legislative agenda for 2009. Pat Shields with the Seminole County Medical Reserve Corps informed members on the importance of medical reserves for our community. George Indest, III with The Health Law Firm spoke on some of the current legal issues facing physicians today and gave tips for the members. The main speaker for the night, Steven West, MD, President of the FMA, spoke on FMA past accomplishments and goals for 2009. SCMS Executive Committee with Dr. West after the meeting.
