Seminole County State Senators

S009 Sen. Andy Gardiner – District 9

Senator Gardiner was elected to the House of Representatives in 2000, and in 2008 as a member of the Senate.  He lives in Winter Garden, and works as a Director of Community and Business Relations for the Orlando Healthcare System.

Hays Sen. Alan Hays – District 20

Senator Hays was elected to the Florida Senate in 2010.  He is a retired dentist from Umatilla.

Sen. Hays has become one of the strongest allies to the medical profession as a vocal advocate for physician issues.  He served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2004 to 2010.  Rep. Hays spoke to the SCMS at our November 2005 meeting.  He was recognized as the "SCMS 2008 Represenative of the Year".   -

 

Simmons Sen. David Simmons – District 22

Senator Simmons has held office in Florida since 2000, first in the House of Representatives, and then from 2010 as a member of the Senate.  He is an Attorney and Financial Managing Partner of de Beaubien, Knight, Simmons, Mantzaris, & Neal, LLP. 

Senator Simmons received the Florida Medical Association, Legislator of the Year Award and the Seminole County Medical Society, Outstanding Legislator Award in 2005.

 

S024 Sen. Thad Altman – District 24

Senator Altman has held office in Florida since 2002, first in the House of Representatives, and then he was elected in 2008 as a member of the Senate.   He is a contractor from Rockledge.

Senator Altman has been a strong supporter of the medical community.  He is the Chair of the Senate Tax and Finance Committee.

Seminole County State Representatives

MetzRep. Larry Metz – District 25

Representative Metz was elected to the House of Representatives in 2010.  He is an wattorney from Yalaha.

Rep. Metz serves on the Health & Human Services Quality Subcommittee.

Brodeur Rep. Jason Brodeur – District 33

Representative Brodeur was elected to the House of Representatives in 2010.  He is a Health Care Consultant from Sanford. 

Rep. Brodeur has served on the Medicaid Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics Committee.

4419 Rep. Chris Dorworth - District 34

Representative Dorworth was elected to the House of Representatives in 2007 during a special election. Rep. Dorworth is a real estate developer from Heathrow.  He is on the House Committee on Healthy Seniors.

4430 Rep. Scott Plakon – District 37

Representative Plakon was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2008.  He is a publisher from Longwood.

Lobbying - 2009
