SCMS Mission Statement:
The Seminole County Medical Society (SCMS) is a non-profit organization that represents over 230 physicians who reside or practice in Seminole County. The SCMS provides its physician members with a strong voice and active representation in local and state government, with regulatory agencies, and in community activities. SCMS serves as an advocate for patients and physicians in promoting public health and ensuring high standards in medical care, education and ethics.

2012 SCMS Officers:-
Jon graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1983. He completed his residency in General Surgery at Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa. Jon currently practices General Surgery in Longwood, FL.
Raaj Popli, MD - President-Elect
Raaj graduated from the Medical College of Virginia in 1997. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of South Florida. Raaj currently practices Gastroenterology/Internal Medicine with Digestive Disease Consultants in Altamonte Springs, FL.
Andria Mushahwar, MD - Vice President
Andria graduated from George Washington University in 1999. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Meharry Medical College, Nashville, TN and his residency in Gastroenterology at Vanderbilt University and the University of Louisville. Andria currently practices Gastroenterology/Internal Medicine with the Center for Advanced Gastroenterology in Maitland, FL.
Babak graduated from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York in 1995. Dr. Vakili currently specializes in Cardiology while practicing at Orlando Heart Specialists in Altamonte Springs, FL.
Sara graduated from the Medical College of South Carolina in 1966. She completed her residency in Pathology at Baylor University Medical Center. She has been a volunteer and leader with the 4-H of Lake County for 21 years. Sara is a Pathologist with the District 9 Medical Examiner's Office.
Thomas Kelley, MD - Immediate Past President Tom attended the Medical College of Georgia, and did his residency in Family Medicine at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Jacksonville, including serving as Chief Resident. He spent ten years on the faculty of Atlanta Medical Center's Family Medicine Residency Program before joining his father, Dr. Lawrence Kelley, in practice in Longwood. Tom and his wife, Tina have two sons - Cliff, 13 and Ryan, 10.
